The first African female DJ to play on BBC 1Xtra, Akua has experience in A&R, licensing, publishing, management and PR.
She is a Music Consultant / Curator with an international DJ profile, and has an entrepreneurial, exciting and extensive music career varying from publishing/licensing, sync, music programming, curator, A&R to education. She curates tasteful, bespoke luxury/commercial and niche branding experiences alongside DJing internationally but also makes time for developing young people.
On Radio she has presented for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1xtra, BANG FM, Break London Radio and SOUL FM UK. Her music centres around afro-beat, where she has built a formidable reputation, but now also includes influences from across world music.
